John A. Colton was born in New York City, New York, in 1959.  He was admitted to the Florida bar in 1983 and has over 23 years of experience primarily in commercial, person injury and insurance defense litigation, real estate and family law.  John is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.  John received his B.S. from Florida State University in 1980.  He received his J.D. from the University of Florida in 1983.  John joined the firm in 1995.  John is a member of the American, Florida and Sarasota County Bar Associations as well as the Florida Bar.  He focuses his practice in the areas of commercial, insurance defense and personal injury litigation, real estate law, and family law.  John is a principal of the firm.
